Irish based Fairways and FunDays was awarded the title of World’s Best Golf Tour Operator at the prestigious World Golf Awards held in Madeira last night. This marks the first time an Irish company has won this award, surpassing some of the biggest names in global golf tourism.
The World Golf Awards 2024 programme, celebrating its 11th Anniversary, received a record number of votes. The award results followed a year-long search for the world’s best golf tourism and hospitality brands, with votes from golf industry professionals and consumers alike.
Commenting on this honour, CEO & PGA Professional Conor Russell said: “Winning this award is well-deserved recognition of the hard work our team—including employees, agents, partners, and suppliers, has put in over the years. 2024 has been an extraordinary year for the golf industry. Participation levels continue to rise and golf clubs worldwide are welcoming record numbers of new members. With international golf travel now a major sector in tourism, demand has never been higher.”
Commercial Director Joe O’Carroll added: “Ireland is the sole destination we offer at Fairways and FunDays. This award reflects not only our dedication to providing the best golf vacation experience but also the exceptional quality of golf in Ireland. We dedicate this award to the incredible people and businesses in Ireland’s golf and hospitality industries. We also extend our gratitude to Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland for their invaluable support.”
Martin Donnelly, Manager- Product Sales and Distribution, Failte Ireland:
