The number of foreign visitors to Ireland rose by 3.5% in August.
In total 763,600 people from overseas visited the country during the month, the Central Statistics Office said.
While here, they spent a total of €1.1bn, an increase of 10.2% when compared to the same month a year ago.
35.7% of those visiting came from Great Britain, followed by the 18.8% from the US and then 7.4% from both Germany and France.
Collectively they stayed a total of 6.7 million nights in the country, 9.2% lower when compared with August 2023.
The average length of stay was 8.7 nights, down from an average of 9.9 nights during the same month a year ago.
Two out of every five stayed in hotels and the typical cost of their visit was €1,437.
€363 of this total went on fares, €70 on prepayments, €437 on accommodation and €566 on day-to-day spending.
