GAA All-Ireland SFC 2024 quarter-finals: Donegal vs Louth followed by Kerry vs Derry

After Galway’s shock win over Dublin on Saturday, today’s contests perhaps did not live up to yesterday’s excitement.

Kerry were good value for their victory over Derry but it was a cagey affair and the new favourites for the All-Ireland will want to be more like their free-flowing best against Armagh in a semi-final back here at Croke Park in two weeks’ time.

Ulster champions Donegal will be seeking improvement too despite booking their first last-four spot in a decade.

They did what they had to against Louth but there were plenty of times their manager cut a frustrated figure on the sidelines.

In Jim McGuinness’ first season back at the helm, the Tir Chonaill have already emulated the feat of the Glenties man’s first year in charge all the way back in 2011 when, after winning Division Two and the Ulster title, they made it all the way to the semi-finals. Can they go even further this time around?

After knocking out the reigning champions in their own back yard this weekend, Galway will have plenty to say on that front too, of course.

Plenty to look forward to ahead of those semi-finals on 13 and 14 July. For now, thanks for joining us today for the last of the quarters, goodbye!
