GOLF: Thurles native is set to captain Ireland as they travel to Somerset next month

The Irish U16 Girls’ and Boys’ teams have been selected ahead of their matches against England at Burnham & Berrow Golf Club.

Liam Troy from Thurles is set to be Captain for the competition which takes place next month across channel as Ireland take on the home team. 

The event takes place next week with the action getting underway on Saturday the 5th of October with morning Foursomes at the Somerset venue.

The Girls’ team consists of Ella Cantwell (Esker Hills), Hannah Lee McNamara (Royal Portrush), Gemma McMeekin (Royal Portrush), Kayleigh Mulholland (Moyola Park), Niamh O’Grady (Royal Dublin) and Jessica Reynolds (Co. Sligo).

Eoin Burrows (Belvoir Park), Adam Fahey (Portmarnock), John Moran (Portmarnock), Isaac Oliver (Ballinasloe), Harry O’Hara (Clandeboye) and John William Burke (Ballyhaunis) will represent the Boys.
