Team India, who had won the inaugural edition in 2007 and finished runners-up in 2014, begin their campaign on 5 June against Ireland before squaring off against arch-rivals Pakistan on 9 June. They play three of their matches at New York City’s Nassau County International Stadium before flying to Florida, where they face Canada in Lauderhill on 15 June.
The tournament is expected to scale dizzying heights as far as television and online viewership is concerned despite the fact that the tournament is taking place in a time zone that is not considered ideal for viewers in the subcontinent.
