Hurricane damage at Augusta golf clubs revealed in drone footage – Irish Golfer Magazine

Must read

Two hurricanes in the space of a week ripped through the south-eastern corner of the United States, and when it comes to Mother Nature, no amount of prestige makes you immune.

While the extent of the damage suffered by Augusta National is not fully known, a series of drone images were posted on ‘X’ by user @ed_bodenhamer, reportedly taken between the first and second hurricanes.

Club chairman Fred Ridley has eased any fears that the 2025 Masters will be affected, even though the club are continuing to assess the extent of the carnage.

“We currently are assessing the effects at Augusta National Golf Club,” Ridley said.

“In the meantime, our focus and efforts are foremost with our staff, neighbors, and business owners in Augusta.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with them as well as everyone throughout Georgia and the Southeast who have been affected.”

Augusta Country Club borders Augusta National on Amen Corner, however, and Augusta National even procured additional land from its neighbour prior to extending the 13th hole. And a drone video published by Eureka Earth on ‘X’ shows to much greater extent the damage caused by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton on the lesser known of the two clubs.

By extension, we can get an idea of the force of the winds and get some sort of an idea of what may have occurred on the other holes at Augusta National.
