Match Analysis
Asked to bat, Ireland ended with 106 for nine, in response, Pakistan ended with 111 for seven.
Ireland didn’t have a great start to their innings as Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Amir made a mockery of the top order.
The Irish team was left tottering at 32 for six but a fighting knock from Gareth Delany (31:19b, 1×4, 3×6) played a vital hand to keep his team in the hunt. Josh Little (22 not out:18b, 2×4, 1×6) played a brutal hand that powered the team to a total of 106 for nine.
In the chase, Pakistan too were off to a shaky start with the bat. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were left tottering at 62 for six.
However, skipper Babar Azam (32 not out:34b, 2×4) held one end up and made sure that he batted till the end. Abbas Afridi (17:21b, 1×4, 1×6) and Shaheen Afridi (13 not out:5b, 2×6) supported him well as Pakistan chased the target with three wickets in hand.
