Greetings and a warm welcome to our coverage of the second Test between South Africa and Ireland from Kings Park in Durban.

KICK-OFF: Crowley kicks off for Ireland and sends it deep where Smith gathers and carries. De Klerk clears with a box kick but it give Ireland a chance to run at them. The Springboks force Ireland back in defence but then a contestable kick wins Ireland attacking ball and they kick ahead again with Pollard having to scramble the ball into touch just outside the Springbok 22.

Le Roux has to go off for an HIA but it was not from foul play and Ireland will feed the lineout in a great attacking position.

Etzebeth goes for an interception but cannot hang on and Ireland will have the scrum feed ten inside the South African half.

Ireland get a cheap free kick and they take it quickly. Ireland then get a penalty as Etzebeth is ruled to be offside.

Crowley slots the kick to give Ireland a lead.

Ireland go for a safe exit and the Springboks call a two-man lineout.

Osborne takes Feinberg-Mngomezulu out in the air and the Springboks set up a lineout just inside the Ireland half.

Pollard’s tester is too long and Ireland get the mark and make a good clearance up towards halfway.

Crowley looks for space in behind but his effort goes straight out and the Springboks have the feed but then they overthrow Ireland put them under pressure and a poor kick gives Ireland a chance to counter.

Ireland score a textbook try from their playbook with neat passing setting up the key play. Murray gets over to score.

The Springboks get a little lucky as they get away with a sloppy breakdown as Ireland knock on trying to snatch the ball off the ground. South Africa have the scrum just about ten metres inside the Irish half.

South Africa win the scrum penalty as they are dominant this time and Pollard calls for the tee.

Ireland have South Africa under pressure on their 22 but a knock on releases that pressure just a bit. South Africa need to find a way to play the match in Ireland’s half.

The clearing kick from South Africa doesn’t find touch and Ireland counter again. Ireland spill the ball as they almost steal it on the Springbok 22.

South Africa get the scrum penalty and they can now set up a lineout and hope to build an attack from there.

Pollard tries to put Kolbe away with a flat pass but the winger cannot hang on. Kolbe would have been in behind with a support runner as well.

Ireland get lucky as Smith charges down a kick and almost gets to the line before losing the ball. Ireland then get a cheap penalty.

Ireland are hemmed into their own 22 but South Africa are plagued by errors and a lack of ideas on attack.

South Africa have a lineout five out now after Ireland strip De Allende after tackle is called.

Pollard accepts the three after that attacking set and Ireland might feel like that is a moral victory.

Ireland have been the dominant team for the first half. South Africa wasted 22 entries which might have given them a better position at the halfway stage. South Africa haven’t been able to use their setpiece dominance and haven’t dealt well with Ireland’s kicking game which has been cleverly executed.

The Springboks start with fire as they spark a counter, but they just cannot finish it off.

Snyman offloads and Marx is in space but his support runners are all forwards and Ireland get back. Porter thinks he has won it but he is penalised for going beyond the ball.

Pollard kicks the Springboks into the lead for the first time in the match.

Pollard kicks the goal. South Africa lead again.

Ireland stop the Springbok maul and win a scrum on their own 22 following a 50/22 from Williams that flipped play back into the Irish half.

The Irish scrum goes down and Pollard will call for the tee again. Ireland remonstrate with the referee but he feels they weren’t taking the hit.

Pollard kicks the goal again and now South Africa lead by five.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu makes a crucial error as he kicks straight into touch and Ireland miss the lineout but then win a penalty which allows them to set up another attacking lineout deep in the South Africa 22.

Ireland snap the drop goal and they are back within two points heading into the last ten minutes.
