Ireland took a sensational four-wicket win over Zimbabwe at Stormont thanks to an 84-run stand between Lorcan Tucker and Andy McBrine.
While the host side struggled initially Tucker and McBrine batted well to hit Ireland’s highest sixth-wicket partnership in Test cricket.
Having lost their opening seven Tests, Ireland now have back-to-back wins after beating Afghanistan earlier in the year.
Speaking afterwards, Ireland captain Andy Balbirnie said: ‘We spoke in the dressing room last night about how we had two of the best test batsmen at the crease and that we still believed we could win.
‘The beauty of Test cricket is the ebbs and flows. Last night was a tough watch but today we got our rewards for four days of hard work and we are delighted to win this Test here in front of our friends, family and fans.’
This was the first match to be played in Northern Ireland.
