The Republic of Ireland are set to face-off against Greece in the Nations League on Tuesday evening as they look to put 2-0 loss to bitter rivals England behind them.
The Irish will be host to Greece at the Aviva Stadium for the first time since last year when Greece were victorious as 2-0 winners in UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying in October.
Greece have an impressive record against the Irish having never lost in five previous meetings (D1, W4), they are the only European nation that the Boys in Green have come up against more than twice without tasting victory. Heimir Hallgrímsson’s men look to turn these fortunes around, in a fixture that looks more manageable on paper then England last weekend.

The match will be televised live on RTÉ2 and the RTÉ Player with build-up starting from 7.20pm. With the match kicking off in Dublin at 7.45pm.
Team News
Republic of Ireland captain Seamus Coleman has returned to his club following an injury sustained in the second-half against England on Saturday so Festy Ebosele has been called into the squad for the Greece match tonight.
Assistant Head Coach John O’Shea said: “That’s the ups and downs of it, how competitive international football is.
“The beauty of having a game a few days later gives everyone the chance to bounce back as quickly as possible and improve performances and improve everything about the performance,” he said
“That’s the key bit for us, if you improve the performance levels hopefully that will eventually bring consistent results in our favour. Make sure we are hard to beat and then we go win some matches on the back of that.”
Goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher said: “I had a few saves to make and stuff and thankfully I was able to help the team.
“Obviously personally for me, it’s not about that, it’s about the team and getting the right result for the country.
“Yeah, I was personally happy with my own performance but I think we definitely need to improve as a team and it’s a big game on Tuesday.”
