The theme was The Garden of Time and celebrities did not fail to meet this at the Met Gala 2024.

The Met, or otherwise known as The Met Ball which is held on the first Monday in May is an annual fundraising gala held for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in Manhattan, New York, USA.

Vogue editor-in-chief Dame Anna Wintour has been running the Met Gala since 1995 and this year Wintour along with many other celebrities on the carpet wore Irish designers.

Coordinated with the Costume Institute’s exhibition Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, the gala theme is inspired by the 250 items that have been pulled from the Institute’s permanent collection for this year’s exhibit, including some that have been rarely seen in public before.

Lana Del Rey wore a pale brown dress designed by Alexander McQueen, headed up by Dublin-born designer Seán McGirr.

Usher also arrived wearing custom-made Alexander McQueen cape by McGirr.

Sarah Jessica Parker channeled her inner Carrie Bradshaw and wore a headpiece by Irish designer Philip Treacy headpiece to pair with her beige gown, created by London-Irish designer Richard Quinn.

Zendaya wore a Philip Treacy design before quickly changing into another flowery design.

Eve Hewson wore a pink gown by Irish designer Simone Rocha.

With Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson stepping in as honorary chair for the gala this year, it’s no surprise that many guests stepped out in Loewe designs.

Anna Wintour, Taylor Russell McKenzie, American singer Omar Apollo, Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey, and One Day actress Ambika Mod were all spotted in the Derry man’s designs.
