County Cavan is on the horizon for the Irish Golfer Events team this week as the events series moves to PGA National Ireland Slieve Russell on Friday the 9th of August, which is then followed by Portumna on Friday August 16th. We’re approaching the halfway point in the series for 2024 and there have been some outstanding venues so far, with the Slieve Russell continuing this trend. The events are fully qualifying open competitions and if you haven’t taken part yet – you still have lots of opportunities remaining in 2024!
All-in-all this year’s series will be 18 events before the Grand Final, and each stop will come with all the usual Irish Golfer trimmings, with €5,000 worth of prizes up for grabs at each event, as well as first tee announcements, a welcome gift, nutritional snacks, drinks and branded tees and pencils.
As always we’ve gone right to the top for the prizes and this year’s prizes are headlined by the new TaylorMade Qi10 family of clubs covering our usual three categories (Men up to 11 Handicap Index, Men 12-24 H.I. and Ladies up to 36 H.I.). There’s also the added bonus of Nearest the Pin and Long Drive competitions sure to test your wits.
As ever, competitions are singles stableford and are open to all players with a Golf Ireland handicap index. With 12 guaranteed prize winners sharing over €5,000 worth of prizes at each event, don’t miss your chance to be part of Ireland’s largest amateur golf series. The three category winners from each event will also qualify for the Grand Final where we will crown our Irish Golfer Champion for 2024.
And if you don’t qualify for the Grand Final as one of the category winners from the events automatically, you can still qualify through the FLOGAS Order of Merit. Your best four scores across the year will be counted and the Top 10 players not already qualified for the Grand Final will win a place at the Grand Final 2024.
Entry is for €60 for members of host clubs or €80 for guests.
