US Women’s Open

Leona Maguire and Stephanie Meadow will be bidding to upstage Nelly Korda’s quest for a seventh win in eight starts at this week’s US Women’s Open in Lancaster.

Maguire has a mixed record in the second major championship of the year. The Cavan star broke a run of three successive missed cuts with a T8 finish in 2022 while she was T31 in Pebble Beach last year.

Meadow burst onto the scene with a 3rd place finish at Pinehurst in 2014 but has missed the cut in every edition since.

Lahinch amateur Áine Donegan was one of the stars of the show at Pebble last year and she is back for another taste of the elite after coming through a qualifier again.

Donegan narrowly missed out on the low amateur prize last year and is ready to bid for it again.

“The one thing I am disappointed with is not winning the low amateur, but my main goal was to make the cut and to play well. I didn’t realise how big it was until I came home, and everyone was talking to me about it.”

RBC Canadian Open

The US PGA Championship is firmly in the rearview mirror as Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry look to get back on track and hit some form before next month’s US Open at Pinehurst.

McIlroy has a brilliant record at this event, winning twice while Shane Lowry came close here a couple of years ago.

Seamus Power is back in action looking to break back into the top-100 in the world and a win that would secure his spot in the US Open field.

European Open

Tom McKibbin returns to Hamburg and the site of his maiden DP World Tour victory as he defends his crown at the European Open.

McKibbin won in style last year with a cracking shot to the par-5 18th from under a tree. The Holywood man looks to be prepared for a strong defence having notched three top-10s in eleven starts on the DP World Tour this season.

Ladies European Tour

Lauren Walsh and Olivia Mehaffey are in action at the Dormy Open as Walsh looks to continue her run of form following back to back top-10 finishes.
