Leona Maguire was given a reprieve in her season as she scraped into the CME Group Tour Championship after a weekend wait went her way.
Maguire had missed the cut at The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican in Florida and was projected to drop to 61st in the Race to CME Rankings.
But while results on the course this season haven’t gone her way, the permutations fell in her favour over the weekend as she climbed back into the top-60 and ended up dropping just one spot to 58th overall.
Maguire will have the chance to take advantage of her good fortune at this week’s $11million CME Group Tour Championship finale at Tiburon, where the winner will take home $4million, which is the largest single prize in the history of women’s golf.

Séamus Power saved his best for last at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship as a six-under 65 saw him finish in a share of 23rd on nine-under.
This week’s RSM Classic is the last of the FedEx Cup Fall events and after falling one spot to 55th in the rankings he needs a decent week to remain ranked between 51st and 60th in Georgia.
The top-60 on Sunday night will earn Signature Event starts in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Genesis Invitational at Riviera early next year while a win would secure an appearance at the Sentry in January.
