Tuesday night’s scheduled Supertwins TT race has been postponed because conditions around around the circuit have been deemed unsuitable.
The race had been due to take place at 19:40 BST but after completing a warm-up lap a number of competitors expressed concern about lingering damp patches around the course following rain in the early part of the day.
A statement issued by the organisers explained that the decision had been made “following consultation with competitors following the warm-up lap”.
“Riders have advised that conditions around the TT course are not suitable for racing.
“The Clerk of the Course has confirmed that this evening’s race will not take place,” the statement read.
The opening Superstock race had also been scheduled to run on Tuesday but was dropped from the programme earlier in the day because of the adverse weather.
A new schedule for racing has not yet been released.
Michael Dunlop will become the most successful rider in TT history with another win.
In total, the Northern Irishman has six races remaining in which to which achieve that feat after drawing level with his uncle Joey in the all-time list by winning Saturday’s Supersport race.
Peter Hickman took victory in Sunday’s dramatic Superbike TT after Dunlop lost in the region of 50 seconds when he stopped on Bray Hill at the start of the fifth lap to adjust the visorpod on his helmet.
