The Minister for Justice says the Apple Tax money needs to be spent on the country’s infrastructure.

Helen McEntee says investment needs to be made in our universities, hospitals and prisons.

The Minister told ‘The Michael Reade Show’ this morning that she will push for extra investment, whether it’s from the Apple Tax or elsewhere:

“One thing that I have tried to do when coming into the Department of Justice is move it to a more digital space. So you’ll see the Gardaí now, we’re rolling out body cameras, we’re making sure they have hand-held devices and technology so that they don’t have to go back to station. So you imagine a guard in their car, they now have a device where they can input any information that they need to, where they can access information on Pulse.

“If they see somebody committing a crime, they can do all of that in their car. That’s all because we’re investing in technology, in equipment”.
