Belfast-based Kirker Greer Spirits has gained listings for its premium gin brands, Jawbox and Ukiyo Spirits, in Tesco stores nationwide across Ireland.
The expansion of its premium gin brands in Ireland marks a significant milestone for the company.
Ryan McFarland, chief commercial and strategy officer at Kirker Greer Spirits, said: “Ireland is a key market for our business and our brands, so securing a listing with Tesco Ireland is a significant benchmark in our expansion plans.
“Both Ukiyo and Jawbox are growing rapidly, and this partnership is another step forward in our strategy to expand across both off and on-premise channels. We’re confident that Irish consumers will embrace these gins, whether they’re seeking local authenticity or exploring exciting, international flavours.”
Both brands are already available in Ireland’s leading independent premium retailers, bars and restaurants. Now, shoppers in the country’s Tescos can find Jawbox Small Batch Irish Gin (40% ABV), as well as Ukiyo’s Blossom (40% ABV) and Tokyo Dry (40%) expressions, on the store’s shelves.
Kirker Greer noted that Jawbox’s small batch Irish gin will appeal to consumers seeking provenance and quality in their spirits, while Ukiyo’s Japanese gins offer ‘delicate’ floral notes and a sophisticated taste.
Carmen Spatari, buying manager of Tesco Ireland, added: “We are delighted to introduce Ukiyo Japanese Gins to our premium gin offering at Tesco. The growing popularity of Asian spirits aligns perfectly with our commitment to providing our customers with a diverse and exciting range of products.
“Ukiyo’s exceptional quality and unique flavours will undoubtedly attract new customers and enhance our overall gin selection.
“At the same time, the inclusion of Jawbox Small Batch Gin reflects our continued commitment to supporting local producers. Jawbox is an exceptional Irish gin that offers our customers authenticity, provenance, and a rich story, which we know are increasingly important to consumers when selecting premium spirits.”
Last month, Kirker Greer Spirits launched its first out-of-home (OOH) campaign for Ukiyo Tokyo Dry Gin across the London Underground and launched the brand in the Netherlands and Germany.
Meanwhile, Jawbox Export Strength Gin was given at The 2024 Gin Master’s with a Master medal, while at this year’s Vodka Masters, Ukiyo Japanese Rice Vodka was awarded the title of The Vodka Taste Master 2024.
