A proud moment for Laois as Durrow’s Chloe Kenna has been named the Football Association of Ireland’s International Football For All International Player of the Year for 2023.
Chloe was presented with the prestigious award by the President of the FAI, Paul Cooke, in recognition of her representing Ireland at the Homeless World Cup in Sacramento, California, US.
Kenna was presented with her trophy in the Aviva Stadium ahead of the UEFA Nations League game between Ireland and Finland. A game in which Ireland won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Brighton’s Evan Ferguson. Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher also saved a penalty in the 77th minute to preserve Ireland’s one goal lead.
A jury from Soccer Writers’ Ireland helped with the selection of certain categories to help honour those who excelled over the previous year.
