Letterkenny’s Shane Porter to represent Ireland at World Masters Darts Championship

Must read

Letterkenny teenager Shane Porter jets off to Budapest on Monday to represent Ireland in the World Masters darts competition.

It’s been a great year for the 16-year-old who won two European Gold medals with the Irish Youth Team during the summer, being the only member from the county at that time to make the Irish team at the Europe Youth Cup in Latvia.

Born to Gerald and Noreen Porter, Shane, a student at St Eunan’s College, took his first steps towards the dartboard at a tender age and has since forged an impressive path in the sport.

Porter also plays for Browne’s Bar in the Twin Towns League as well as for Glencar Inn which recently won the Letterkenny League last July.

Shane will be joined on the trip by his teammate and younger brother Jack who is also representing Ireland at the event.

Notably, the 2022 winner of the same tournament was none other than the professional darts player, Luke Littler.
