The tightest and most dramatic League of Ireland title race ends this evening. All eyes in Irish football will be on the Brandywell and Tallaght stadium as Derry City welcome Shelbourne and Shamrock Rovers host Waterford FC.
The permutations are very straightforward. If Shelbourne defeat Derry City, they are League of Ireland champions. Should Shels draw or lose, and Shamrock Rovers defeat Waterford, Rovers will be champions for the fifth year in a row.

Build-up
Both Damien Duff and Stephen Bradley have been speaking to Tony O’Donoghue of RTÉ ahead of tonight’s games.
Shels manager Damien Duff has said winning the league tonight would eclipse any achievement he had in his playing career.
“Playing football was second nature to me, since I was that high, I had a football at my feet, so dribbling in an Irish jersey or on a Champions League night wasn’t stress to me, it was just normal.
“Whereas this is totally out of the comfort zone stuff and the hardest thing I’ve ever done.”
Shamrock Rovers do not control their own destiny tonight and Stephen Bradley has said that Rover will just focus on the fixture in Tallaght.
“It’s about us focusing on trying to beat Waterford. If we do that, we give ourselves a chance, but if we don’t do that, it doesn’t matter what happens elsewhere. So we just have to focus on what’s in front of us.
“It’s obviously exciting for everyone involved in the league to have it go down to the the final game. And we just see what happens.”
“I think reflecting on what we’ve done and the history comes years down the line when we’re all old and retired and we can look back”
“Right now, we’re in it. We’re hungry for more. Can we achieve it? Can we go and win?
“But look, this group always fights and we’ll keep fighting.”
