Sara Byrne and Lauren Walsh’s attempts to successfully navigate the second stage of LPGA Tour Q-School will have to wait after the LPGA Q-Series tournament organisers opted to postpone the Qualifying Tournament to a later date.
With Hurricane Milton sweeping through Florida, the safety of players, caddies, tournament staff and volunteers at Plantation Golf and Country Club has taken top priority. The club, which is located in Venice, close to the western shore of Florida, is about an hour south of the hurricane’s epicentre when it hit land.
No date has been confirmed as yet for the rescheduled event, but Final Qualifying is scheduled for early December in Alabama, so there is a large window to fit the second stage into.
Should neither Byrne nor Walsh make it through to Final Qualifying, both will have category ‘I’ or category ‘K’ status on the Epsom Tour – the LPGA’s official feeder tour – for the 2025 season. Leona Maguire made her way onto the LPGA circuit after winning twice on the Epsom Tour – the Symetra Tour as it was then called – in 2019.
