London-based online meal-kit manufacturer and retailer Gousto has expanded into Northern Ireland for the first time.

The company, which uses AI and automation to provide choice and personalisation for its customers, says that from this week it is offering weekly recipes in Northern Ireland, with orders picked, packed and delivered from its Warrington fulfilment centre.

But delivery in the north will be available on Mondays and Tuesdays only, as opposed to seven days a week in the rest of the UK.

Gousto says it offers more than 250 recipes a month from just £2.99 a meal. all delivered to your door

It follows the launch of rival recipe box brand Mindful Chef in the north earlier this month.

As in the rest of the UK, it will make Gousto the only recipe box provider to cater for one through to five-person households in the region, according to the company, while price points are also the same.

It offers more than 250 recipes a month from just £2.99 a meal.

Gousto chief executive and founder Timo Boldt said: “We are incredibly excited to bring our offer to even more households with the launch in Northern Ireland, where we’re offering customers the same amazing choice and variety the rest of the country has come to love, with chef-created recipes to suit all occasions and tastes.

“This expansion is a significant step in our vision to become the UK’s most loved way to eat dinner.”

It comes as Gousto returned to profitability in 2023, with underlying EBITDA of £26 million (it posted a loss of £8m in 2022).
