Businesses in Ireland can now register their accounts to sell on Amazon to customers around the world, ahead of the launch of Amazon.ie next year.
Over 1,000 small and medium sized Irish businesses already sell more than 5.5 million products on Amazon, with home, beauty, grocery, and health and personal care the most popular categories.
Irish SMEs selling on Amazon recorded over €170m in export sales last year, with more than €100m in export sales outside the EU.
Dubliner Alison Dunn, who has been with Amazon for almost a decade, has been appointed Country Manager for Amazon’s retail business in Ireland as it prepares to open its virtual doors.
Ms Dunn has previously held roles in both Amazon’s retail business and Amazon Web Services (AWS), which already has a strong presence in Ireland.
“Our teams across the country are incredibly excited about the launch of Amazon.ie in 2025, and writing the next chapter of our story in Ireland,” said Alison Dunn, Ireland Country Manager at Amazon.
The new store will also be supported by the five-year agreement that Amazon and An Post announced last year, which will lead to more convenient, faster deliveries and returns.
Amazon employs around 6,500 people in Cork, Dublin, and Drogheda in a range of roles including data engineers, operations management, and finance.
