Liam Nolan had a moving day to remember as he carded nine birdies to shoot a course record 65 and move to within two shots of the lead heading into the final round of the European Amateur Championship in Denmark.
Nolan shares seventh place on four-under alongside fellow Irish International Max Kennedy while American Preston Summerhays leads the way on six-under.
The Galway man had birdied the fifth, eight and ninth and remarkably responded to a double bogey six on the 10th with three straight birdies before finishing with three birdies in his last four holes.
Royal Dublin’s Kennedy is alongside him after a round of 71 that also included a double bogey and three birdies in his last four holes to keep his hopes alive.
The leaderboard is tightly bunched with the top-25 separated by just six shots.
Sean Keeling and Hugh Foley are both nine shots off the pace on three-over after rounds of 72 and 77 respectively.
