Oasis have announced a further two dates for their reunion tour next year – but again no more have been added for Ireland.
The band announced yesterday that they will play two more dates at Wembley Stadium in London, increasing the number of nights at the venue to seven.
And in good news for fans who missed out on tickets to see the Gallagher brothers share a stage again, the sales process will be changed for the new dates.
“Two extra Wembley shows have been added due to phenomenal demand,” Oasis said in a statement.
“Tickets will be sold by a staggered, invitation-only ballot process.
“Applications to join the ballot will be opened first to the many UK fans who were unsuccessful in the initial sale with Ticketmaster. More details to follow.”
As well as the seven nights at Wembley, Oasis will also play five nights at Manchester’s Heaton Park, three nights at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh and two nights at both Croke Park and Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
Earlier this week, the consumer watchdog here said it was “actively reviewing the situation” after thousands of Oasis fans were left disappointed by last Saturday’s ticket sale.
After queuing online for hours, many people found they were only left with the option of paying more than €400 for “in-demand” standing tickets for the Croke Park shows.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission said “there are legitimate concerns around the consumer experiences” of the ticket sale.
Ticketmaster has said all ticket prices including for platinum, in demand and VIP tickets, are set by promoters and artists.
