TWO Tullamore women, Lorna Bagnall and Suzanne Davis (née Colton), have been selected to play for Ireland in the upcoming over-50s Women’s Masters Hockey World Cup, which will be held in New Zealand this November.
Both Lorna and Suzanne began their hockey journeys at school and later honed their skills with Tullamore Hockey Club. Over the years, their dedication and talent have seen them rise to the top of their game, earning a spot on the national team for this prestigious international tournament.
Masters Hockey not only allows players to compete on an international stage, but also showcases that hockey is truly a game for life. Tullamore Hockey Club is a great starting point for aspiring players of all ages. With teams for children as young as five, all the way through to the senior ladies’ team, there are opportunities for everyone to get involved in the sport. To learn more or join, contact Jane Guinan on 086 8804491 and follow the club on Instagram & Facebook.
As Masters Hockey is fully self-funded, with a significant trip to New Zealand ahead, Lorna and Suzanne are seeking support from the local community to help them represent Ireland on the global stage.
There are several sponsorship opportunities available, and the women would greatly appreciate any support to ease the financial burden of competing internationally. For those interested in sponsoring or supporting their journey, please get in touch with Lorna Bagnall 087 8134344 for more details.
Let’s rally behind these athletes and give them the boost they need to bring home success for Tullamore and Ireland!
