Paris 2024 Olympics: The list of flagbearers at Friday’s Opening Ceremony, from Coco Gauff to NBA stars

Must read

Grand Slam tennis champion Coco Gauff and men’s basketball stars LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo are among the flagbearers for the Opening Ceremony at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Friday 26 July.

This Olympic Games will see the best part of 10,500 athletes paraded along the river Seine in the French capital, with the six-kilometre route ending in front of the Trocadéro.

As the birthplace of the Olympics, tradition dictates Greece will lead out the Parade of Nations during Friday’s ceremony, meaning Antetokounmpo will be among the first athletes caught on camera.

Antetokounmpo, an NBA champion and two-time MVP with the Milwaukee Bucks, is the male flagbearer for Greece, with compatriot and race walker Antigoni Drisbioti their female flagbearer.

The United States will be one of the last teams out on the river, with global superstar James – a two-time Olympic champion as well as four-time NBA champion – his nation’s male flagbearer, and tennis star Gauff, who won the 2023 U.S. Open, joining him.

Hosts France will go out last, with Olympic champion swimmer Florent Manaudou and discus silver medallist Mélina Robert-Michon their flagbearers.

Cindy Ngamba and Yahya Al Ghotany were announced as the IOC Refugee Olympic Team flagbearers.

The below list will continue to be updated as nations confirm their Paris 2024 flagbearers this week….
