Alberto, who travelled from Brazil to watch the Games, has landed himself a semi-permanent stool at the Club House as a true fan of all things Irish. “My wife is Irish, my kids are Irish, so Ireland is in my heart. Coming to an Irish pub for me is the tops and this place is fantastic,” he said.
The atmosphere here on a weekday is nothing short of a Saturday night in Temple Bar. Alex Van Hooredeke – a bartender at O’Sullivans – has been working throughout the duration of the Games and says the atmosphere is buzzing at night time.
“It’s been really busy here and the atmosphere is good. It’s mostly Irish supporters who come during the day time but at night, it’s full of people from everywhere, he said.
“There’s an Irish band live at 10:30PM most nights, and DJ sets in the nightclub area too so people love that.” he added.
The list of acts to appear at the Team Ireland house is under wraps for now, but you can expect to see some household names such as the Coronas, and irish bands fill the place with melodies of the green frelds.
