Huge multinational Pharmaceutical firm Pfizer is set to cut 210 across their facilities in Ireland. The firm is understood to be cutting the jobs from their facilities in Newbridge Kildare, Ringaskiddy Cork, and in Grange Castle Dublin.

In the statement announcing the lay-offs “Pfizer recently launched a multi-year, multi-phased programme designed to assess the efficiency of our manufacturing focused on finding operational efficiencies to increase productivity within the network
As part of this process, we have conducted a series of evaluations and have proposed a reduction in the number of people supporting our overall manufacturing operations in Ireland.”
The statement went on to name the sites in question in the evaluations, naming “Grange Castle, Ringaskiddy and Newbridge sites.”
And that decisions in relation to lay-offs would be conducted with “transparency, respect, and in compliance with all applicable laws.” and that the decision is the “very last resort”
