There was ‘nun’ better than the Newmarket Oskars ‘Sister Act’ cast to roll out an amazing fashion show fundraiser at the Cultúrlann to a full house of enthusiastic fashion fans at the Cultúrlann last weekend.
Trending styles for the summer season were showcased by Linehans and O’ Shea’s Fashions, Newmarket, Nóirín’s Boutique, Millstreet and Lady Lydia, Kanturk, while headpieces from NSJ Designs added a further wow factor to the event.
Eileen Lane speaking on behalf of the Sister Act group had this to say:
“The organising committee is extremely grateful to all those who made the event possible and compere for the evening, Geraldine Foley, was superb. Local businesses had kindly donated very generous spot prizes for the raffle, and this further enhanced the occasion.”
To the delight of the audience, members of the cast of Sister Act got into the habit and took to the catwalk before the interval. Looking magnificent in monochrome, they danced and sang and gave a small taste of what will be seen on the big screen at the Clayton Hotel Silversprings on April 26th when Newmarket GAA will present their big event.
“This has been a wonderful experience for all involved,” said Eileen Lane as she complimented the commitment and work of the cast since rehearsals began in February.
“The co-operation of all culminated in the hugely successful fashion show on Thursday night and the organising committee was delighted with the support they received.”
The Clayton Silver Springs Hotel will rival Hollywood on Friday, April 26th when scenes from seven popular movies portrayed by a cast of approximately 100 actors/actresses from Newmarket and surrounding areas will be shown.
“A great night out is assured, demand for tickets is high and this is a night not to be missed” Eileen added.
