Paddy Neilan will be the man in the middle for the clash between Kerry and Tyrone at Laois Hire O’Moore Park, Portlaoise, on Sunday next at 1 p.m…
Neilan has returned to action in recent months after recovering from a foot injury he sustained in March 2023.
The Roscommon official is one of the most highly regarded officials on the GAA circuit, having taken charge of the epic 2022 All-Ireland senior football semi-final between Dublin and Kerry in Croke Park.
He was also standby referee for the 2022 All-Ireland football final between Kerry and Galway.
Last Sunday, he officiated at the Tailteann Cup clash between Laois and Carlow, which ended in a thrilling draw.
Meanwhile, details of the Roscommon senior footballers’ opening game against Dublin in the All-Ireland Series in Croke Park are expected to be released this week.
With the Dublin senior hurlers scheduled to play Galway in the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship on Sunday, May 26th in Salthill at 2 p.m., it is expected that the defending All-Ireland senior football champions will tackle the Rossies on Saturday, May 25th.
There’s also a possibility that the Roscommon U-20 hurlers could form part of a double bill at GAA headquarters as they’re scheduled to play Down in the All-Ireland U-20 B hurling championship final on Saturday week.
