Searches for Irish based property that originated in the US spiked markedly in the days following the election of Donald Trump as President.
According to estate agents Savills Ireland, searches from the US rose by an average of 342% compared to the week before the election.
The majority of that interest came from Democratic-leaning states, with 9 of the top 10 states to search for Irish property having voted Democrat.
Topping the list was New York, with 1,377 searches recorded by Savills in the period after the election, compared to the 191 in the week prior to it, a 621% rise.
There were 636 searches for Irish property post-election from Massachusetts, up 562% from the 96 in the week before the ballot.
While searches originating in California leapt by 530%, rising from 181 in the seven days pre-election to 1,141 in the week after.
Interest also rose in Republican voting states, but not by as much, with enquiries from Texas up from 283 to 717, a 153% increase.
While there was a 230% rise recorded in Georgia and a 238% jump seen in Florida.
