Taoiseach Simon Harris shared a picture of his meeting with The Edge last night at a conference on sustainability in Dublin.
Posting the photo on social media, Mr. Harris said: “Good to meet The Edge last night in Dublin. He and U2 have really done inspiring work with Music Generation Ireland – bringing opportunities to so many children and communities. Eager to help do even more in this area.”
The two were pictured at a conference on sustainability organised by venture capital firm Venture Wave Capital, where former taoiseach Enda Kenny is chair of its global advisory council.
Edge (63), real name David Evans, is one of the founding members of U2.

Dublin Lord Mayor James Geoghegan also shared a picture with the rock star at the event. Alongside The Edge was “political rock star” John Kerry, the former US Secretary of State and now special presidential envoy for climate, further emphasising the evening’s focus on sustainability and global cooperation.
Sharing the picture on X, Cllr Geoghegan said: “I was delighted this afternoon to welcome attendees to their conference on sustainability.”
“It gave me the unique opportunity to meet two rock stars, a political, and a real one.”
