T20 World Cup: USA and Ireland may face off in a 5-over match; Here are the key details on cut-off time- thesportstak

The toss of the United States vs Ireland T20 World Cup 2024 Group A clash has been delayed due to a wet outfield. This match will decide the fate of Babar Azam-led Pakistan in the ongoing tournament. If USA loses to Ireland then there will be a chance for Men in Green to qualify for Super 8.

USA are facing Ireland at Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida. The co-host USA are currently placed second in the points table with four points from three games, while Ireland are placed at the bottom with two losses from as many games.

Pakistan are placed third with one win from three games, while India leads the group with an all-win record from three matches. The official inspection of the pitch for the ongoing match will take place at 11.46 PM IST.

There is no sign of rain in the ground at this point of time but the main concern is a few patches just beyond the 30-yard circle. If the match begins at 11.46 PM IST then it will be a 5-over contest.

Pakistan qualification scenario 

If the match happens and Ireland beats the USA then Pakistan just need a win against Ireland to qualify for the playoffs and if this match ends with no result then the USA will directly qualify for the Super-8.

No Rain in Florida

There is no rain in Florida at this point in time. But the outfield is not safe to play due to a few patches near the 30-yard circle. It seems like the toss will take a lot of time. If the clash is delayed for more than 11.46 PM IST then the match will be called off.
