Taurus Monthly Horoscope

Must read

MONTH OF September

The summer ain’t over until it’s over for you, Taurus—and in your case, the final leg of it could be one of the most active! For starters, the Sun is swirling through Virgo and your passionate, creative fifth house until September 22, stretching out the late-summer days. But straight out of the gate—on September 1, to be exact—two major retrogrades happen, including one in your sign. Prepare for a pivot or three, no matter what your carefully curated calendar might say.

During Virgo season, there’s still much fun to be had, so lean in to your joie de vivre and let your big ideas take stage. Your back-to-school plans can wait until later in the month. For now, there are moments to be savored! Don’t let your “very demure, very mindful” side steal all the fun. You won’t want to waste one action-packed second—especially with those OTHER transits disrupting the status quo this month.

So…let’s dig in. September opens with changemaker Uranus in Taurus turning retrograde on the September 1, hitting the brakes on some fast-moving personal plans. That same day, intense Pluto, retrograde in Aquarius since May 2, makes its final reversal into ambitious Capricorn for the last time in our lives! When this happens, Pluto will shift its focus from your career sector back into your ninth house of entrepreneurship and education. Did you abandon a visionary idea in your quest for professional stability? Between now and November 19, you might go back and scoop it up again.

Here’s some cool news: All month, Uranus and Pluto will join forces, forming a harmonious (loose) 120-degree trine that sets the stage for profound transformation—on a personal AND global level. These two cosmic giants last met up in a similar fashion in the early 1920s, ushering in radical social, economic and political change. Is it time for a Roaring Twenties revival a century later? Throw in a powerful midmonth partial lunar eclipse in Pisces on September 17, and you’ve got yourself a dynamic cosmic setup that could rejigger your identity and relationship patterns—for good!

The overall message? Release any people-pleasing tendencies and trademark Taurus stubbornness. That mindset is only holding you back, Bull! This reminder can’t be overstated for your tenacious sign, especially in the final months of 2024. As steadfast as you can be, you also have a passionate side to you that’s deeply creative and artistic. When you’re inspired—and can temper your inflexible disposition—nobody can materialize things quite like you.

A September self-audit could be in store as radical changemaker Uranus starts its annual five-month retrograde through your sign from September 1 until January 30, 2025. For the rest of the year, Uranus backslides through your first house of individuality, fresh starts and passion projects. This is all part of a longer cosmic “extreme makeover” you’ve been experiencing for a while. Disruptive Uranus has been cruising through your sign since 2018, revamping your identity. By now, most Bulls have adapted to the steady stream of changes—but it won’t be officially over until 2026.

With Uranus retrograde, you have time to ponder a pivot to your plans and to map things out clearly to reach your goals. The rapid change could slow a bit, which could bring a huge relief and feel more aligned with your intentional nature. But avoid any radical makeovers to your appearance, your career trajectory or your life. Should new paths and possibilities spring up, consider which have staying power before you forge in. If you’ve struggled to gain traction on a big idea, Uranus retrograde could finally help it take root.

Just don’t get TOO settled or fixated on a single mission. Disruptor Uranus is the planet of change and progress. Its retrograde is an excellent time to take a look at yourself, your habits and where you might get in your own way. Admit it: Your sign’s rep as stubborn isn’t entirely undeserved! What might you be clinging to that no longer serves you?

A few hours after Uranus makes its 180 on September 1, subterranean Pluto (retrograde since May 2) slips out of progressive Aquarius and back into strategic Capricorn for one final hurrah, wrapping up a 16-year transit that began in November 2008. During Pluto’s dive back into Capricorn, which lasts until November 19, you might delve into a metaphysical or educational topic, engage in soul-searching travel or attract people who make you rethink your assumptions. You could even revisit an entrepreneurial or educational venture that you set aside.

Shadowy Pluto, the ruler of transformation and the unconscious, has been retrograde since May 2. This cycle began in Aquarius and your tenth house of career, responsibility and long-term goals. Pluto’s been in Aquarius off and on since March 2023 (its first visit here since 1798!), so its changes probably haven’t gained much traction. Still, you’ve definitely tasted the powerful possibilities that could await you in the years ahead, especially on your professional path. When Pluto returns to Aquarius on November 19, it won’t leave for another 20 years—giving you two solid decades to reach the top of your game.

For the rest of Pluto’s time in Capricorn, you might find yourself negotiating power dynamics—and possibly power struggles—with people in authority positions. If you’re the one in the top-dog role, you may have to create firmer boundaries with those who answer to you. Since Pluto rules the underworld, its retrograde can magnetize some untrustworthy characters. Careful about falling for a slick sales pitch now. Check references and conduct your due diligence. Trust your animal instincts and look to understand people’s true motives before you leap into anything risky. Whether you’re visiting the local tourist trap on vacation or exploring a business venture, keep your guard up.

On September 2, the year’s only Virgo new moon serves up an opportune moment to initiate a creative project, kicking off a fresh six-month chapter in your live-out-loud fifth house. If you’re a performer, artist or “maker,” this is a great day to share your talents or grow your audience.

Nestled in your romantic fifth house, the Virgo new moon also turns the page on a fresh chapter for your love life—ready or not! You could find yourself attracted to someone different than your usual type, a person who’s not afraid to be their authentic self (somebody who FINALLY matches your freak, perhaps?). Since the fifth house rules fertility, a pregnancy (or news of one) could be imminent for Bulls of the childbearing set. This news could come by surprise. Watch what develops between now and the March 14, 2025, Virgo full moon.

Your social calendar could also see a boost with la luna shining its moonbeams in your fifth house of fun and friendship. Think twice before you RSVP, though. Do you really have the energy for The Social Olympics? You may feel conflicted on September 3 as dreamy Neptune in your gregarious eleventh house clashes with volatile Mars. Pushing yourself to go out when you want to stay in will just put you in a sour mood. And how fun will that party really be if you just wind up bickering with your friends? Some much-needed relaxation will help you recharge.

The next day, on September 4, Mars moves out of chatty Gemini and into Cancer, energizing your social third house until November 3. Get ready for some dynamic invitations—and for life to become a lot more playful!

With assertive Mars in emotional Cancer and your communicative third house, you could lean in to a deeper well, allowing you to feel more comfortable expressing your emotions. Your intuition and creativity will be especially heightened—turn to your trusty journal, Notes app or a blank canvas and let your ideas flow through. If you’re feeling particularly bold, channel your inner Ilona Maher (Olympic rugby star and Mars in Cancer native) and do your own spin on her vulnerable and empowering body-positive Reels and TikToks.

They say laughter is the best medicine, and you could use a mega-dose, Taurus. As the Sun and sobering Saturn make their once-a-year opposition on September 8, look for the humor in a stressful situation instead of letting a struggle take you down. Has life dealt you a decidedly non-LOL hand this year? Take the day off from trying to solve the problem and distract yourself with a massage or retail therapy. Tonight, a cozy movie night at home with a vintage rom-com could be just what the doctor ordered.

If friendship dynamics are decidedly unbalanced, this Sun-Saturn opposition could offer a necessary readjustment. Have you fallen into a role of codependent enabling and sacrifice? We know you’re loyal, Bull; however, you may need to cut some of those cords in no uncertain terms. Or, if you’ve put up TOO many barriers, you’ll see clearly now where you can let go and open yourself to receiving support. Have you gotten a little too autonomous lately? You may have to trade some ego or a sense of control—but it’s a small price to pay for feeling like others have your back!

Regardless of how you choose to navigate your existing interpersonal dynamics, expect eclipse season to usher in a healthy dose of change. The last two game-changing eclipses of 2024  take place over the course of this month and next, serving up disruption and upgrades that challenge the status quo. Eclipses can push us off the fence if we’ve been wishy-washy or procrastinators. Unexpected events occur during eclipses, and a whole area of our lives can change in short order. This can be exciting or feel daunting. Whatever the case, it’s best to stay alert and expect the unexpected during eclipse season—and be open to what changes may come.

The September 17 full Pisces supermoon, a partial lunar eclipse, kicks off a brand-new eclipse series on the Pisces-Virgo axis spanning through February 2027. During this period, the stars are teaching you when to be #brat and take the starring role…and when it’s best to be a team player.

Yes, there will be moments when it’s perfectly appropriate to don that metaphorical bejeweled crown and demand the best. Then there are times to put ego and drama aside or take one for the team. These eclipses are poised to stoke your creativity, giving you enough confidence to turn your ideas into works of art or innovative projects. Fame or recognition could even come. If you’re at all sheepish about attention (which you could earn a lot of soon), reframe it as honoring your unique talents and showing others how to do the same. Lead by example!

The first Pisces eclipse shakes things up in your eleventh house of teamwork and technology. There could be a changing of the guard in your crew—a close friend, that person you ALWAYS call first, could suddenly become unavailable, busy or unreliable. One particular pal may also reveal shocking true colors. Don’t hang on because of guilt or misguided loyalty, Taurus. Let go with grace, and dial down the drama if you can. Not all friendships—even lifelong ones—are meant to go the distance.

Mark September 19 to 21 as three supercharged cosmic days that can magnetize the right friends and allegiances to your corner. Around this time, you might be invited to join a creative collaboration, professional association or even a new friend circle. If you’re launching a digital venture of any kind, you could unveil the beta version or start sending out press releases.

The meticulous Virgo Sun forms an earthy grand trine with liberator Uranus and transformative Pluto, giving you an added ability to manifest outcomes and cross things off your wish list—grand earth trines are famous for their ability to generate magic out of thin air and put gears in motion. With Uranus in your first house of identity and Pluto in your expansive ninth house, you might just shock the world with an announcement, a new image or some other debut.

By the time the Sun shifts into collaborative Libra and your sixth house of health, fitness and routine, you’ll be focused on buckling down and getting organized—and the balancing fall equinox supports your mission. Break out the spreadsheets and calendars or fire up a project-management app like Asana or Trello. Get those action steps mapped, and don’t forget to take your ten thousand literal steps, too!

Rewind and be kind, Taurus. “Acts of service” is your love language until September 22 as loving Venus hangs out in Libra and your helpful sixth house. Want to win hearts and enjoy some hanky-panky? Find ways to “be there” for them, showing your dedication to helping your love interest win in life. By the same token, be sure to keep some boundaries in place. Supportive is hot; sacrificial is not.

When Venus slides into Scorpio and your seventh house of commitments on September 22, you’ll need clear labels. (Bye situationships!) Gracefully initiate those heart-to-hearts—and be sure to set the right tone so these talks remain creative and inspiring rather than contentious.

With Mars in Cancer and your mentally active third house from September 4 until November 3, conversations are the key to your heart. Invite your sapiosexual side to take the wheel. While physical attraction and chemistry are a must, you could catch feelings for someone who isn’t usually on your radar, just because they’re so damn witty and clever.

Love could bubble up from the friend zone too…especially with a brand-new Pisces/Virgo eclipse cycle kicking off on September 17 and in effect through February 2027. Since the first eclipse of the series activates your eleventh house of future and friendships, you’ll be zoned in on the long-term potential of your current romantic roster. Maybe the right one has been there all along!

Set your Resy alerts for September 15, when flirty Venus and jovial Jupiter form a harmonious 120-degree trine, serving up a healthy dose of stimulating banter and coquettish whimsy to your date night or #girldinner with your besties. Good vibes only!

With the Sun in Virgo until September 22 and ambitious Mars in intuitive Cancer for most of the month, creative, inspired ideas are pouring out of you. The September 2 Virgo new moon can help you turn the page on your passion projects…and possibly bring some sudden recognition to the fold. A brilliant, out-of-the-box idea could garner viral social media status, a game-changing commission or a chance to speak in public about your ideas. All eyes are on you, Bull.

Don’t feel pressured to commit to a decision or plan of attack just yet, though! Big changes could unfold midmonth, when the September 17 Pisces lunar eclipse kicks off a brand-new eclipse series spanning through February 2027. This inaugural eclipse will activate your eleventh house of teamwork and collaboration, revamping your strategic alliances and long-term priorities moving forward—for good.

Could there be a potential changing of the guard in the office? A key player might suddenly give notice, leaving a gap in leadership. Or maybe you’ll decide a group project is more of a headache than it’s worth. You could also be invited to join a new professional association, one that expands your contact list and connections. Since the eleventh house rules technology, a digital project could come to an exciting finale or even go viral.

Productivity alert: Circle September 19 to 21 for extra energetic hits of motivation and inspiration. The hardworking Virgo Sun forms an earthy grand trine with changemaker Uranus and powerful Pluto, giving you an added ability to manifest outcomes and put form to your inner vision.
