Taylor Swift Eras tour: Everything you need to know about her Dublin gigs

Must read

The world-famous US singer will grace the Aviva stadium on June 28, 29 and 30 and, for many, it’s the gig of the summer. If you don’t have your outfit ready, you’d better start digging out the cowgirl boots, boas and friendship bracelets.

The star rose to fame back in 2008, and her latest break-up album, The Tortured Poets Department, became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single week. Here’s everything you need to know ahead of her Dublin gigs.

When does she play?

Taylor Swift will play three concerts at the Aviva Stadium on Friday, June 28, Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30.

Are tickets still available?

Have you been living under a rock? Swifties around the globe are still recovering from the so-called Ticketmaster war of 2023 when fans battled fiercely to secure coveted Eras Tour tickets.

However, occasional resale tickets do appear on Ticketmaster.ie – often at exorbitant prices. If the FOMO becomes unbearable, keep an eye out there – but remember, only buy tickets from accredited sources.

Who is the support act?

American pop-punk icons Paramore, known for hits like Misery Business, Still Into You, and Ain’t It Fun, will ignite the stage for Swift.

What time should I arrive?

Doors open at 5pm, with Paramore kicking things off shortly after. Taylor Swift is expected to take the stage just after 8pm.

How do I get there and home again?

Organisers have advised fans to allow for extra time travelling to and from the venue.

With 50,000 fans going to the stadium, traffic delays are guaranteed, and everybody is being encouraged to walk, cycle, or use public transport or private coach services.

There are a number of different colour coded entry points for fans going to the gigs:

Orange Route Lansdowne Lane Entrance (off Shelbourne Road)

– By Dart: Take any southbound Dart to Grand Canal Dock Station. Exit the station and turn right onto Barrow Street, continue onto Shelbourne Road.

Irish Rail has confirmed that the Swift concert weekend is likely to be the busiest of the summer, with a lot of people headed towards the city and Shania Twain playing in Malahide Castle on the Friday.

Dublin Pride and Longitude also take place on Saturday, June 29, along with Fairview Park gigs and an All-Ireland football quarter final set to take place in Croke Park.

Customers are urged to allow extra time for your journey, as high volumes of passengers will likely cause delays. People not attending these events have been asked to avoid these routes during event times.

As part of a policing plan for major events at the Aviva Stadium, Grand Canal Dock Station will be closed at the end of the concerts. Irish Rail events teams will be on-site at stations to assist customers.

For Intercity customers, there will be late-night services after each concert at 12.40am from Heuston to Cork, with a connection to Limerick. This service must be booked in advance.

The Dublin Bus routes that serve the Aviva Stadium are the 1, 4, 7, 7a, 38, 38a, 47, C1 and C2.

There are also plenty of commercial operators providing services to and from the concert, such as: Travel Master, Irish Concert Travel, Concertbus.ie, BusesToConcerts.com, JJ Kavanagh, Matthews Coaches, Halpenny Travel, East Coast Coaches. Even Belfast City Sightseeing is getting in on the action.

Tickets on these services are booking out fast, so don’t waste time. All coaches will be parked in the designated coach parking area organised by the Concert Promoters and An Garda Síochána.
