Drumnatinny Beach, also known as Falcarragh Beach, is well-known for its fantastic views of Horn Head, Tory Island and Derryveagh Mountain range and crystal-blue waters.

The long strand beach is part of Ballyness Bay, a special area of conservation for many birds that can be found across the globe.

It is the perfect spot for family days out, long walks, water sports and swimming.

There are several water sports companies that provides activities for water sports lovers, such as kayaking, surfing and paddling boarding.

Kitty’s Kayaks provides fun and family-friendly kayak tours that require no experience.

The tour explores secret waterways and also offers sunset kayaking.

The beach has recently been awarded Green Coast status due to the purity of the water and cleanliness of the beach – making it one of Donegal’s finest spots to come for a swim.

And dolphins are often spotted swimming in the waters close to the beach.

However, people need to take extra care in the water as there are no lifeguards on duty.

There is also a decent-sized car park located at mid-beach with a snack van providing delicious refreshments during the busy months of summer.

The town also has affordable staycation accomodation – with prices from €50.

After your lovely swim and big food break, there are a number of walking trails, including Errigal Loop, Aghla Beg and Fawnaboy Upper.

Tory Island is Ireland’s most northerly inhabited island and is one of the most wonderful treks.

There is a ferry operating daily to the island from Magheroarty and it takes about 45 minutes to reach the island.

The island boasts many incredible swimming spots with crystal blue waters, beautiful landscapes and an idyllic place to visit with plenty of Irish music and merriment with no official closing time.
