Paul was shortlisted in two categories, CIO of the Year and IT Professional of the Year.

Stryve Ireland’s Managing Director, Gillian Moody was up for Person of the Year whilst Stryve was in the running for Managed Security Service Provider of the Year.

On the night, it was Paul who collected the prize.

Beyond this, Paul is well-known within the industry for his contributions to advocacy for improved national cybersecurity, education and EU and Government policy.

Among his recent achievements, Paul co-founded the South East Chapter of Cyber Ireland, and hosted free events and webinars about hot topics in the cybersecurity sector.

In his role as CISO at Stryve, Paul’s goal is to foster a cyber security-awareness culture in businesses across Ireland and the EU. Paul is one of the primary media contributors to the upcoming EU legislation Digital Operational Resilience Act that comes into effect in January 2025.

Speaking at the Tech Excellence Awards, Paul commented, “I am delighted to be named CIO of the Year and to receive this recognition amongst my peers. It is an honour to be shortlisted for any award, but to be recognised at an event as well regarded as the Tech Excellence Awards is a real thrill. Looking at the other nominees, I feel privileged to be counted among them.

I must acknowledge the outstanding team at Stryve; this achievement is undoubtedly a collective effort. With four shortlistings for tonight’s awards programme, this recognition is a testament to the exceptional teamwork and culture at Stryve, and I share this award with the entire team.”
