Final plans are in place for one of the biggest sporting events to be viewed around the world and taking place in Co Kildare’s Curragh Racecourse this Sunday, 15th September.
Some of the fastest horses in the World will be taking part in the Irish Champions Festival which will be watched this Sunday by 294 million people on 22
different broadcast channels across 127 countries.
Off the track the famous racing venue has significantly invested in and added to its activities for raceday racing and family entertainment which sees the 4 acre sporting campus transformed into a massive playground for both adults and children.
The top attraction, supported by local business Fitzpatrick’s Mercedes-Benz, will be an actual real-life Formula 1 simulator for those wishing to experience what it’s like to be in control of one of the fastest racing cars on the planet!
For younger children, a mini carnival will be in full swing throughout the day with the Curragh’s biggest ever selection of family activities.
Children can enjoy carousels, bumper cars, the racecourse train as well as treasure hunts and music.
The Moyglare Kids Zone and playground also includes a bumper line up of children’s activities including face painting, Spin the Wheel and much more!
Ruth Norton from the Curragh Racecourse said “We can’t wait to showcase the Curragh Racecourse and the Curragh Plains to the World this Sunday and we hope to have a lovely crowd to join us and enjoy what will be an amazing day of fun, music and sport.
“For those who enjoy a gentler pace, we have a lovely garden party vibe and race goers can take in the beautiful blooms while enjoying the racing. However, we have gone all out to deliver fun activities for adults and children and we quite simply couldn’t have packed in anymore! We especially can’t wait to see all the adults try out the Formula One simulator as they experience a different type of horsepower with us.”
