Traffic and travel: several incidents lead to tailbacks for rush hour motorists; rail services resume with delays after tragic incident

A collision on the M7, an earlier collision on the M50 and a tragic incident at Howth Junction has led to travel disruption for commuters this evening.

A collision on the M7 between Junction 2 Kingswood and Junction 3 City has led to the blockage of two lanes and caused tailbacks this evening.

Northside rail services were suspended earlier due to a tragic incident.

DART and Northern Commuter services have been impacted due to an incident at Howth Junction.

The line between Howth Junction and Malahide has now reopened. Services are resuming, subject to delays

Reports of deer on the motorway and an earlier collision on the M50 northbound before J10 (Ballymount) have added to delays on the route this evening. There now is a broken down car too after J9 (Red Cow). It’s blocking the right lane. Severe delays of 60 minutes from J13 (Dundrum).

On the other side of the road, a broken down car was reported around 4pm where you join the M50 southbound from J7 (Lucan). It’s blocking the right lane at the end of the ramp.
