DONALD Trump has named Ireland as one of his favourite places in the world to to play golf.

The 45th President of the United States was speaking on Bryson DeChambeau’s Youtube channel.

New York native Trump, who recently survived a shocking assassination attempt, played with the two-time major winner.

Trump, who is a keen golfer owns 17 golf courses around the world, including Turnberry in Scotland, a venue that has hosted four Open Championships.

2024 US Open champion DeChambeau and Trump, who is also the Republican nominee for the upcoming US Presidential Election played a scramble for charity.

Each player on the team hits a tee shot, and then they choose the best Shot and play together.

They donated $10,000 for every birdie, and double that for every eagle scored during 18 holes in the ‘Break 50’ series.

All funds raised go to the Wounded Warriors Project.

And speaking during the round at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey the former US President was asked about his favourite place to play golf on the planet.

When asked the question by LIV Golf star DeChambeau, Trump mentioned Turnberry before naming his stunning Irish golf course, Trump Doonbeg as a ‘phenomenal’ track.

He said: “You love Scotland because there’s Turnberry…Turnberry.

“It got rated number one in the world – as you know – which is very hard when I own something – that it gets rated number one in the world.

“Some people don’t like it, you understand? – for me to get number one in the world.

“But in Ireland we have Doonbeg, which is phenomenal… it’s phenomenal.”

DeChambeau also hailed the Irish course after playing there last year ahead of the 2023 Open.

He added: “It’s awesome, I’d a great time there. It was great.”

Trump International Golf Links & Hotel Doonbeg, commonly known as Trump Doonbeg, is a luxury golf resort located in County Clare.

The course was originally designed by LIV Golf Commissioner Greg Norman in 2002.

Donald Trump purchased the property in 2014 and it has since undergone renovations and improvements.

The resort features a world-class 18-hole links golf course, luxury accommodations, spa, dining options, and other amenities.
