Head Coach Peter Johnston said:

“We are extremely grateful to the ECB for again inviting our Under-19s over to the world-class facilities at Loughborough and for the opportunity of playing in this Youth ODI Tri Series.

“The squad we have selected features a good balance of experience – with half the squad having competed in our most successful Under-19 World Cup back in January, while the other half make a first step up at this level, building towards the next Under-19 World Cup in 2026.

“Several players also featured in Emerging Ireland’s clean sweep over the West Indies Academy in the summer along, while a few members have experienced senior inter-provincial cricket this season. The majority of the squad have also played in our Future Series tournament – either with the Academy or their respective provinces.  Those type of challenging experiences above their age groups will certainly stand to our players and give them confidence.

“This series we’re heading into will enable us to have a great benchmarking opportunity and gives sound correlation to performing on the world stage. It will highlight strengths that players can build on over the winter along with areas needed for improvement, while also forming part of the journey towards the next World Cup for some.  Everyone is excited and looking forward to the series getting underway.”
