A group of travel journalists and influencers from the United States is visiting the island of Ireland, as guests of Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Tourism NI.

The journalists – whose publications and online platforms have a predominantly LGBTQIA+ audience spanning millions of people – are visiting during Dublin Pride and are here to learn about the many things their readers and followers can see and do here, as well as to participate in this weekend’s Dublin Pride Parade.

Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America, said: “We were delighted to invite this group of US travel journalists and influencers to the island of Ireland, to experience this year’s Dublin Pride and see for themselves what we have to offer LGBTQIA+ visitors. The articles and content they create and share will inspire their readers and followers to visit in 2024 and beyond.”

The group’s action-packed itinerary included a Lavender Walk Queer History Tour of Dublin with activist and journalist Tonie Walsh. They also visited Killruddery House & Gardens, Game of Thrones Studio Tour, Hillsborough Castle and Gardens, Titanic Belfast and The Maverick for Open Drag Stage. The group enjoyed a tour along the Causeway Coastal Route and visited Belfast, where they met with local playwright Dominic Montague for Quartered: Belfast, A Love Story – an outdoor audio theatre walking tour which explores the city through the prism of LGBTQI+ experience. Tomorrow (29 June), the journalists and influencers will take part in the Dublin Pride Parade and soak up the atmosphere!
