An American YouTube star has captured the attention of GAA fans in Co Fermanagh and beyond, after he headed to Enniskillen for an attempt at Gaelic football himself.
Streamer IShowSpeed – real name Darren Jason Watkins Jr. – boasts a staggering 26.9 million subscribers across the video site.
In recent weeks, he has been travelling across Europe and live-streaming his interactions with the public on his social media channels.
On Friday, the 19-year-old internet personality, most commonly just known as ‘Speed’, joined the Enniskillen Gaels GAA club, and had a go at the sport himself.

A self-confessed superfan of soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, it is unlikely Speed will become the Ronaldo of the GAA world any time soon, after he failed to score a penalty in the hilarious encounter – but he did manage to score against one of the actual Enniskillen players, after taking him on in a tackle, resulting in the young man taking a tumble.
Speed ends the stream by getting back in his car and heading away from the stadium.
It’s not sure how long the online sensation plans on staying around the island, or where he’s set to head next – or if he fancies Armagh or Galway in the All-Ireland final next weekend.
