Using the Apple Watch with cellular capability offers numerous advantages, and now, finally, it’s possible to use it here in Ireland on the Vodafone network.
With cellular capability, you can make calls, send texts, receive notifications, and use apps even when your iPhone isn’t nearby. This is particularly useful for running, cycling, or when you don’t want to carry your phone.
You can use the SOS feature to call for help directly from your wrist, even if your iPhone isn’t with you. This can be crucial when carrying a phone is impractical or impossible.
You can stream music and podcasts directly to your Apple Watch without needing your phone or getting directions. You can also use the watch’s navigation features, which is helpful when walking or biking and don’t want to pull out your phone.
The cellular feature lets you track your workouts and activities while staying connected without the bulk of a phone, which is ideal for outdoor activities.

Vodafone supports Apple Watch Series 4 and later with cellular capability, running WatchOS 10.5. An iPhone XS, iPhone SE Gen 2, or later running iOS 17.5 is required to use this feature.
Vodafone customers can purchase the Apple Watch as part of a bundle, which includes the watch and connectivity, with a monthly billing plan under a 24-month contract. Those who own a compatible cellular Apple Watch can opt for the OneNumber connectivity add-on, available for €5 per month with no contract.
Vodafone bill pay customers who subscribe to OneNumber between June and November will receive three months free to celebrate the launch. Customers who choose the OneNumber connectivity add-on for €5 per month will enjoy the first three months at no charge. Those who purchase OneNumber as part of a bundle will receive a €5 monthly discount for the first three months.
