Explore the Enchanting Causeway Coast of Northern Ireland with a unique gastronomic journey. This stunning region, famous for its pristine beaches, dramatic cliffs, hidden bays, and the iconic polygonal columns of Giant’s Causeway, also serves as a haven for culinary enthusiasts.

A highlight in the region’s offerings is the newly introduced “Spirit of the Bann” whiskey tasting adventure by Causeway Coast Foodie Tours. This immersive experience allows guests to indulge in the rich hues and tastes of four distinct whiskeys, paired with exquisite local artisanal foods, all while gliding along the serene River Bann.

During the two-hour voyage aboard the classic wooden craft, MV Kingfisher, guests pass by the historic Mountsandel Wood in Coleraine, recognized as one of Ireland’s earliest settlements, dating back to around 7600 to 7900 BC.

A whiskey expert on board will guide you through a carefully curated selection of whiskeys from the Bushmills Distillery, the world’s oldest licensed whiskey distillery. This includes an exclusive local variety. The expert will detail the intricacies of each whiskey, discussing their color, age, blend, cask type, and aroma, which feature a palette of autumn flavors such as toffee, maple, caramel, fruits, and spices.

These exceptional whiskeys are complemented by a selection of prize-winning local treats such as cured meats, cheeses, artisan oils, and homemade chutneys, sourced from the Causeway Coast.

Participants will also have a chance to learn about the local flora and fauna. Causeway Coast Foodie Tours, led by the enthusiastic Wendy Gallagher, not only offers the Spirit of the Bann but also a comprehensive six-hour Coast and Country Tour. This tour includes visits to local markets and farms where travelers can engage with local heritage and taste outstanding local products directly from their creators.
