The next world update is now available for Microsoft Flight Simulator. World Update: 17 United Kingdom and Ireland is the second pass at bringing this region of the world to the simulator in a new level of detail.
Working alongside the latest data, you will be able to explore 16 all-new TIN cities, nearly 80 points of interest and discover 5 new hand-crafted airports. The update also includes eight activities: three discovery flights, two landing challenges, and three bush trips.
In the recent stream, Jorg said that London and most of England is now up to about 50-100cm resolution, whereas the rest of the UK is at around 2 metres resolution depending on the coverage that the team could access. Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man also get a handful of custom POIs, plus Gibraltar is one of the new TIN cities.
As for new hand-crafted airports, these now include Stansted, Cork Airport, Sumburgh Airport, Cardiff Airport, and to coincide with the event itself, Farnborough. These airports have been made by a mix of iniBuilds and Gaya Simulations.
You can download World Update 17 right now from the in-sim Marketplace for free.
