Oyindamola Animashaun, better known as Zeda the Architect, is a multi-hyphenate creator with extensive experience in fashion editing, styling, costume design, personal shopping, and more.
This week, the Nigerian-born, Ireland-bred stylist has flown over to Copenhagen Fashion Week with videographer Yamila PavÃa to deliver behind-the-scenes moments, industry interviews, and street style snaps to RTÉ Lifestyle readers.
Zeda reported from the Irish Embassy in Denmark, where Irish podcaster and presenter PJ Kirby hosted The Future of Fabrics, a talk about textile circularity and sustainability in Irish design.
Featured among the designers were Aoife McNamara, who has made history as the first B Corp-certified Irish fashion brand. Her creations drawn inspiration from nature and natural materials, with an emphasis on heritage fabrics like wool and linen. She presented items from her Remembrance collection.
Megan McGuigan presented items from her brand Solstice by Seeking Judy, which focuses on handmade knitwear made from deadstock textiles.
Rion Hannora also presented her brand, which creates striking pieces from Irish linen woven in Wexford by Emblem Weavers.
Finally, Megan Nolan Walsh presented her club-inspired designs, which feature brightly coloured and patterned pieces.
Speaking at the event, Kirby praised the support and innovation on display. “I just love the creativity, you know what I mean? Everyone’s doing their own thing, and also the support. All the designers here were helping set up each other’s rails.
“It was giving community.”
